Week 33, 5/11/16

Hey homies.  First of all I want to wish a happy late Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.  You are all the REAL MVPs, and I hope your Mother's Day was magical and wonderful:)

Well this week was another good one! The highlight was of course talking to my awesome family.  As Nacho Libre would say: "They are tha baayyyst!"

To be honest not too much else happened this week that is worth talking about.  It was kind of just the same as usual.  We visited some members and talked to a bunch of people who showed interest or said we could do service for them, but actually getting a solid appointment is a whole other ballgame.  The guy who we had a great interaction with on the street in my last email who was "traveling to his dwelling" turned out to be super busy for the next few weeks so he said he will call us in a month....   Some names that I will hopefully be talking about more in the next little while are: Garrett, Matthew, Sania, Maxwell, and Maria.  They are all pretty promising potential investigators. Another fun thing about this week was going on exchanges to the Rutherford area, aka the richest part of Edmonton.  Holy fetch some of the houses we drove by were just ridiculous.  Apparently they see Lamborghinis and all sorts of other super cars there all the time.  We knocked some of the super filthy rich people's doors and didn't have any success, but we had some good interactions with a few people.  We also had a few good lessons with some less actives that night, it was a great exchange!

FORT MCMURRAY FIRE - THIS IS IN MY MISSION!  Most of these photos were taken by missionaries.

The fires up in Fort McMurray are big news everywhere.  This week a pretty big town about 5 hours north of Edmonton had to be quickly evacuated due to a huge forest fire that started burning the city down.  88,000 people! There were 6 missionaries serving there at the time, and they all got out in time but like most other people they weren't able to pack anything other than the clothes on their backs.  A good portion of the city got burnt down.  This is probably the first of many big forest fires that will happen throughout Alberta in the summer.  The whole province is dangerously dry and desperately in need of some rain!! Yesterday I participated in a stake-wide fast for rain and for the people affected by the fires.  If you could say a little prayer for Fort McMurray and for some rain in Alberta that would much be appreciated. ️

Well that's it for this week!  Elder Alvey is getting transferred on Wednesday and I'm getting a new companion so that should be interesting :) I'm so grateful for the privilege and blessing I have of being able to represent the Savior and be engaged in His work full time for 2 years.  I'm grateful for His sacrifice for us so we can be happy:) Love you all have an awesome week!

Weekly Scripture: Alma 32:41 "41 But if ye will nourish the word, yea, nourish the tree as it beginneth to grow, by your faith with great diligence, and with patience, looking forward to the fruit thereof, it shall take root; and behold it shall be a tree springing up unto everlasting life."
PS starting next week I will only be sending my group email to my dad and my missionary buddies and he will update my blog and send you all a link to the blog and you can read my emails there:)     Elder Weston Bonny🇨🇦

Hey it's me again, I've spent most of my pday exploring around West Edmonton Mall and WOW it's huge.  It's the biggest mall in North America, it has an indoor skating rink, largest indoor water park and amusement park in the world, bowling alley, mini golf, and tons of other crazy stuff!  So cool!!!
